You can raise your child in many different ways, and if you compare western parents with Asian parents you can see a very clear difference. If you’re Asian, you probably think that’s the best way of upbringing a child and westerns think what they do it the best way. In an article by Amy Chua she tells about why she sees the Chinese way as better and how she experienced her own up growing.
Amy called the article “Why Chinese Mothers Are Superior” and it has been published in The Wall Street Journal, on January 8th in 2011. With that title she certainly gets a lot of attention and The Wall Street Journal is only published in the western countries, so I believe she will start some kind of outrage among the westerns. There is a recent focus on Chinese moms and their blindness as parents: “There are all these new books out there portraying Asian mothers as scheming, callous, indifferent people indifferent to their kids’ true interests.” As said earlier this article must cause some outrage with the western parents, and that Asian mothers ‘retaliate’ will support and force the westerns to engage a debate about what is the best way to bring up your child.
