1) The poem: I would say the theme of the poem is the will to live. In the movie the black people have the will to live and change the way they are treated. The poem is about a person who is fighting and going through horrible things, but the person still have the will to survive.
2) Summary: The movie is about how Nelson Mandela united South Africa. When Mandela was released from prison, all the black people where happy, and almost all the white people were angry. Mandela decided to support the national rugby team, because he wanted to unite black and white people. In the beginning a lot of people thought that Mandela was crazy, but he had a plan. He invited Francois Pienaar who was the captain of the rugby team to tea. Mandela changed his view on the black people. Then Francois was trying to change his teammates view on the situation, he took them to a poor area, where there was a lot of black kids, and the rugby team played with them. Slowly the teammates changed there view on the black people. The rugby team then went to the world cup. They won against all odds. All people where celebrating black and white together. So Mandela united South Africa by supporting the national rugby team.
