Its a story about a girl named Polly Miller. Polly is born Amish and she lived after ’Amish rules’. Polly’s best, and only, friend name is Rose Ann, who is English born. She doesn’t understand the way Polly lives. Rose Ann and Polly meet each other when Polly moved to Texas from Ohio together with her parents, her sisters Sara and Effie and her two brothers, Ben and Levi. The family’s farmhand is Tom who is a friend to the family.
Polly’s parents and sister have to go visit in Ohio for some weeks, so Polly have to look after her brothers. Rose Ann and Polly want to do a makeover on Polly and give her some beautiful clothing on, but no one can’t know it, because her father didn’t like it - because they are born Amish and not English.
One-day Tom asked Polly to go out with him and get something to eat. Polly was doubts about it, because he was an English guy, but she did it, and they get an ice cream.
Some months later
A few months later Tom has invited Polly to take with him to a lake. They sad in the car, and then he said: I love you, will you marry me? – Polly opens the door and ran into the forest.
