Narnia could be a paradise but the evil, white witch Jadis has risen to power and has changed the country to a cold dictatorship - an eternal winter.
The faun, who is called Tumnus, sticks his neck out and invites Lucy home for a cup of tea. Tumnus is sincerely happy to meet a human being, ‘’a daughter of Eve’’, but has orders to report to Jadis, should he see humans. Jadis fears a prophecy about four people breaking her curse and bringing back life and happiness to Narnia.
