On January 19, 1996, the 23-year-old Joshua shot to death.

He was returning from work at Martin Luther King Middle School

His last words were “Peace, brother. One love”

His killer escaped.

The real issue is not who killed him but what killed him.

They mean that they need a better society where people are safe

Comments:

Myint: when he heard JoJo was shot he thought that it was serious and did not think anything for it

P-way: he will never forget the look on their face

Ike: he said, “What’s up with Jo.” And turned around and saw his eyes red from crying and then he was dead

Denise: She was praying that JoJo was not dead

Anthony: He could not hear anything because she was screaming and thought it was a joke and wanted people to explain what was going in on.

Derrel: He was asking many questions

Who was JoJo

Comments notes:

Derrell: He respects him not just like his son but also as a comrade and friend, the way you respect a young man that shows potential and goodness. He says jojo had the potential to change the world but not like becoming the president but change the ones around him.
