In this scene Andy Dufresne tried to escape by breaking the wall. The prison director and Andy's friend, Red found out that Andy fled from prison.

A character study/description of one of the characters?

I have chosen one of the main characters, whose name is Andy Dufresne. I have chosen Andy because he has a sad story. The part of Andy that I like is that he was a very positive and hopeful person, and the important thing is that he didn't lose his hope.

Andy was married to a woman, but she was unfaithful. One night Andy's ex-wife and her boyfriend died where Andy was in his car in front of his ex-wife's boyfriend's house. The police blamed Andy for the killing, and then Andy got a life sentence in Shawshank Redemption even though there were no proofs.

Andy got so much beaten in prison, but he was always talking about hope and believed in hope.

In prison Andy became very close friends with a murderer, whose name was Red.

Why you chose this particular scene?

I have chosen this particular scene because I think that the scene was very interesting and really exciting. I like when the main characters attempt to achieve their goals, and the scene where Andy tried to escape which he had planned for many years, and nobody knew about his plan.
