Analyse af håb i 'The Shawshank Redemption'

I have chosen to write about hope, because it’s a big part of my life and everybody else’s lives. I found it very interesting to see, how much Andy believed in hope and how much it carried/helped him though his prison time. What Andy did in this movie, shows that nothing is impossible with hope, right from the thing with the library, to his escape plan. Although he had a hard time in prison, he finished all his projects with help from his eternal burning hope.

Hope can have many different meanings, but one thing is sure; hope is a powerful word and a life sustainer. Hope caresses us and starts a feeling of hope in us even just as we repeat it to ourselves. Some words are that powerful and hope is one of them. Some people may ask why it’s a powerful word. Red says in the movie: “Let me tell you something my friend. Hope is a dangerous thing. Hope can drive a man insane.” That means you have to take care, and be very careful. If hope takes control over your soul, terrible things can happen and you can be driven insane. Well, this happens only very rare and mostly hope is a positive thing, that can help you though hard times.
