It’s such a great honour to so see many people gather together today.

I am Marilyn Bruce, the mayor of Boston, and I want to give a speech about hard work, and how to succeed the American Dream. This wonderful land, we have the honour to live in, was primarily build and found on immigration, our nation has been built on the blood and sweat of countless Europeans, Africans and Asians and that shouldn’t be forgotten. Also, America is that big enough for immigrants and immigration, which make us to the land of immigrants, because we as a nation accept diversity.

It might be difficult, when you arrive to a country, you’ve never been to before. You leave your home, the land you were born and raised in, your family, the environments you grew up in. You move to a new land, in some circumstances, a new continent across the world. You would be encountering culture shocks, which would make life harder in the new country you been immigrated to. But never give up, always have hope, because it was The American Dream involve - that you should never give up, regardless of your ethnicity, religious conviction, social background and age should not determine your chances to achieve The American Dream.
