Global food waste has recently gained a wider significance in the last few decades. Food waste is a problem that will affect every living organism on this earth. Today global food waste sums to be between one-third and one-half of all food produced, and some of the major issues usually occur during production and transportation. For example, in the U.S., 60 million tons of food goes to waste because of deficiency in quantity or quality of food. As a result, food waste is concerned to have a range of major contributions, economically, socially and environmentally.
First of all, the food production system is one of the major economic problem involved in the food wasting process. A study from the institution of Mechanical Engineers in Great Britain indicates that there is already grown enough food for more people then world population and still millions of people are suffering from chronic hunger. The very first loss of food appears to occur during the production and storage and remaining occur during the processing, distribution, and consumption. In developing countries, losses can range up to 80 % of total production, due to a lack of resources of the production and storage, withal in developed economies, a large amount of food is wasted under the process of distribution and consumption.
