The story “Let's Play Poison”, is about a teacher Mr. Howard who hates and despises children in his town so much, that it ends up killing him in the end, with the children ending up playing over his grave.

“Let’s play poison” starts in a classroom full of kids, where one kid gets pushed thru a window and dies three stories down, and is here where Mr. Howard sees that the others children laughs at the situation witch in Mr. Howard's eyes just shows that these children doesn't know any better, and doesn't realize what just happened.

Mr. Howard does not approve of what they've done, and goes home that day feeling very shocked and disappointed in them.

After the incident Mr. Howard then moves to another town and lives alone writing stories and poetry. He then after a few years, felt that is was his duty to take over the class, and hoped that the disappointment he had for the class would have gone away.

One day on his walk home he finds the children playing a game consisting of them jumping over graves, and if they step on the graves, they would be "poisoned" and have to fall to the ground and fake their death. Mr. Howard tells the children that they should not play the game, and after he told the children to stop he finds himself surrounded by the kids playing in his yard and annoying him day by day, he gets frustrated and wants to scare the kids away, so he then chases the children around, and it's now he looks down and sees the ground open underneath him and takes him under, bringing his life to an end, making the children having a new grave to jump over.
