Alcatraz is a prison in America and One of the finest and most interesting prisons i think, because it was built on an island so you can't just escape like it´s nothing.
In 1925 Alcatraz was founded to be a militarybase, and in 1933 it was established to be a prison, and it was a hardcore prison. So you were only put in the prison if you did something really bad.
The prison was guarded 23 hours a day, and there was one guard per third prisoner. Which means that one guard was guarding 3 prisoners at a time. Which is one the reasons why the prison is so hardcore.
The thing with the prison is, that if you thought about breaking out, you have to remember that the prison is on a island and it-is surrounded by freezing water, sharks and a very powerful stream.
And today I'd like to tell you about how three men who broke out of Alcatraz. And these men were named: Frank Morris and the brothers John Angelin and Clarence Angelin.
In the prison they had some musicclasses and they decided that they would rather stay in their cell. And apparently, they weren't guarded when they were in their cell. So they dug a hole around a ventilation shaft in their cell.
