An American psychologist John B. Calhoun leaded an interesting scientifically experiment with mice, that started in 1963. Dr. Calhoun wished to see, what happens in a society, where the physical surroundings are perfect, with other words a kopi of a welfare society.
The experiment began with, four males and four females there were sent in a closed cage, that represented an ideal mice world. The cage was ventilated, and there were good restrooms and nest rooms, it was shaped like a mini take construction. These first four pair prospered well, and gradually there occurred a totally disease free and happy colony of mice.
The problems began to occur, when the total population were up on 150. At this point all of the attractive roles were taken, and simultaneously there wasn’t any meaningful roles to possess within the social groups, there each consisted of half a dozen mice.
Then the collapse began.
Dr. Calhoun explained: >> The reason was, that we had removed any cause of death excepting old age. A number of mice grew up, and they were ready to fulfill their roles in the >>society<<, it turned out, that all of the roles were taken<<. Gradually there occurred groups of young mice, both males and females, who were being deferred by >>society<<. They seemed alienated and kept to themselves. Wonderful that these young mice were physically healthy, they lost their desire to propagation, and the mice society’s total extinction were unavoidable. The last mouse died about 5 years after the beginning of the experiment.
