Tangled is an animated feature film produced by Disney in 2010. The movie, whose message is to follow your dreams and pursue your highest wishes, is centred on the two main characters Rapunzel and Eugene, who goes by the cover name Flynn Rider. Rapunzel is a lost princess, as a woman called mother Gothel captures her, for her magic golden hair, whens she is just a baby. Mother Gothel wanted Rapunzel for her self, because her hair could make the person touching it, younger. Rapunzel turns 18 during the movie, and she is a very feisty young girl. Ever since she was a little girl, her only wish has been to se the lanterns, which show every year on her birthday. She fights to make her dream come true and learns a lot about the world and herself along the way.

Rapunzel is at the beginning a very frightened and ignorant girl, but throughout her journey, she becomes very mentally strong and independent. One day she meet the bandit Eugene, whose only interest is the crown he had stolen from the kingdom. She wanted to see the lanterns and he becomes her guide. Through the story she believes the thug even if he behave in an odd way. She learns a lot from her journey, about the world and about herself, with the help from Eugene. He earns her trust and don’t intent to betray her, but mother Gothel makes it appear that way. Rapunzel then has a fall-back and for a short period returns to her old habits. Because of her knowledge from the real world, she figures out that she is the lost princess and because of her experiences with Eugene, she dares to defy mother Gothel and says to her “I will never stop trying to get away from you”, which tells us that she is not the same ignorant girl anymore.
