The republic of South Africa is located in Africa. The first inhabitants of South Africa were the San and Khoekhoe people. They are also known individually as the Bushmen and Hottentots or Khoisan. Both of the tribes were resident in the tip of the Southern Africa for thousands of years before the history began with the arrival of the Europeans. The tribe San, ranged all over South Africa, where the Khoekhoe stayed near watered areas. Many of them got killed by the Europeans because they stayed near the water. The Europeans did also bring diseases with them, and soon many Khoekhoe ‘’strangely’’ disappeared. The African people where important to the whites, they were used as slaves. In the 1600-century Jan van Riebeeck came to South Africa with his 90 men, their mission was to build a fort and develop a vegetable garden for the benefits of the Eastern Trade route. They bartering with the Khoekhoe, but the Khoekhoe always feared that Van Riebeeck was a threat to them. The Europeans started to steal cattle’s from them, and 9 men were given some land because they finished their contracts with the dutch. That’s also when the first slaves were imported.

In think the apartheid in Africa is just a small circle of hate that has happened in the world. I must honestly say I think its terrible how the black people in Africa was treated, but it doesn’t affect me at all. I come from a country that were in the middle of a civil war for 15 years ago, and hear true stories from my grandmother about how friends and family got slaughtered with knifes and then their body parts would get sold. I see on TV how Israel bombs the Palestinians with illegal bombs; read in a newspaper that the United Nations security-counsel, USA, France, China, Russia and Great Britain sell weapons to rebellions in Africa, with the knowledge of the consecvenses. And that is civilian casualties. Amnesty has made a report of European countries, such as Germany, France make illegal torture-equipment to African prisons. I think it very good that the apartheid is gone, but new problems are still shaking South Africa into a unstable country. Mandela dedicated his life to make justice to his family and the other millions of people in Africa. It’s hard to imagine that he had the courage to fight for his rights when they killed some of his family, and imprisoned him for 27 years. But it only grew him stronger, and it didn’t take long to remove the apartheid from South Africa. Although there is still racism in South Africa, there needs to die people. Some people must have a horrible life to make a balance in the world. All 6 billion people on planet Earth can’t eat happy meals every day, because you can’t have pong without ping. Our nature also gives and takes, to make a balance. May god bless us all.
