The movie “12 years a slave” introduce you to a young black man called Solomon. Solomon is a free man who plays violin as his job. Solomon lives in New York with his wife and two children. One day Solomon met two men, by the names of Merrill and Abram. They introduced themselves to Solomon as entertainers managing a circus. Deceived by an offer to work during their performances in New York, the tour soon extended to Washington, where slavery was very legal. One-night Solomon was drugged and sold into slavery, by the men who had previously hired him. When he woke up, he realized he was in a cell with human cuffs. Suddenly the door opened to the cell and then there was a man stepping in. Solomon tried to explain him that he was a free man, and this was all a mistake, but the man denied his rights and wouldn’t listen to him. The man told Solomon to call him self “Plat” when he denied the man pulled out a whip and hit him a bunch of times until his flesh on his back was open. Later in the night he and some other people got transported to a ship. They sailed for a good amount of time and when he arrived Solomon got transported to a house where he got sold. The man who he was sold to was called William. William had really much respect for Solomon. One day William was in a financial crisis, so he had to sell some slaves included Solomon. They were sold to a man called John. John really changed their life because it was so different from the other. They were treated like crap. A bunch of then were hanged if they didn’t listen to the “Staffs”. William somehow convinced Tibaut to sell Solomon. And so, Solomon was sold to Edwin Epps. Epps was a cruel master, who frequently punished slaves and drove them hard. But hope came in 1852, when a Canadian carpenter visited the plantation. That was the point where Solomon though it was the right time to ask him for help. The Canadian felt really bad for the slaves just in general. Solomon told the Canadian carpenter that he had to go to the north and tell his friends that he needed help. The next day a lawyer and Solomon’s fried came to the farm and had paperwork for that he was a free man. The man who bought Solomon got really mad and tried to stop them. They went into court and freed Solomon from Slavery. That was how 12 years a slave ended.
