Describe the main characters (David Duke, Ron Stallworth, Flip Zimmerman)

David duke was a racist white man who was the Klan leader.

Ron Stallworth was a black cop in an all-white police department. He dealt with racism daily but didn’t let that discourage him from starting an assignment that ended up being a very important investigation.

Flip Zimmerman was a non-practicing Jew who worked alongside Ron during the investigation. He took the human form of “white Ron Stallworth.” It was him that was around the kkk.

This film is director Spike Lee’s ode to integration. What is an “ode” and do you agree or disagree with that description? Defend your position.

An ode is typically a poem that addresses one thing. The movie wasn’t a poem but, I can see what Spike Lee means by it being an ode because, it focused on black lives matter.

What is the role of irony in this story?

David duke became rather good friends with “black” Ron Stallworth and even told him that he could tell that he was a white man by the way he spoke.
