You start to see a woman driving in her car, listening to a tape.
Then it suddenly switches over to Belfast 1954, the British soldiers are all over the streets. The soldiers are forming at big huddle with their bulletproof shields, so they can storm the Irish civilians. The civilians are throwing rocks and other heavy subjects at them.
The soldiers back then was afraid from the civilians, because everyone could be an IRA-member. Therefore, they hunted down Gerry and some of his mates because they were fooling around with a broom on a rooftop.
Obviously, the soldiers thought Gerry was holding a rifle, and was about to assassinate one of them. Gerry and his mates were fleeing from the soldiers, so the IRA-members in Belfast had to hide their weapons in the storage room.
Gerry’s father, Giuseppe, wants Gerry to move to London, because the streets of Belfast are getting to rough, with the British military all over place.
Then on the boat on the way to London, Gerry meets his mate Paul Hill.
Gerry and Paul arrived in London June 26. They both agreed to visit there old friend Paddy.
Paddy has become a hippie and lives in a hippie house in London.
