Hope your well down there in the hot country of Sri Lanka.

I can assure you that you have to be prepared for a big change in the climate, culture, people, and scenery when travelling here to Denmark. Denmark is mostly surrounded by water. Copenhagen is the capital of Denmark, and its charm, variety and success are evident in the well-maintained old buildings and fashionable cafés. The standards of living here are very high. The differences between rich and poor are smaller than in most other countries in the world. This and the all-embracing social welfare services pretty much ensures that the cities basically have no slums or inadequate housing.

Denmark is mainly famed for Hans Christian Andersen, the Little Mermaid and bacon. Many Danes are afraid of speaking with strangers. Of course it is clear to me that it is not possible to have a long discussion between two people if they don’t know each other very well. In my opinion, it’s either that some Danes are loners or they simply don’t have that much to talk to each other about. But however, when a friendship has been made, there are basically no boundaries for what people could and would talk about. The scenery in Denmark is very beautiful, with a very little amount of pollution in the air, even in the big cities. Almost all of the land in Denmark has been cultivated, which means that there aren’t that many breathtaking natural places.
