School shootings are terrifying and a big problem in today’s society, Especially in the US. Colleges, high schools and even elementary schools. There is always a threat and a possibility of having a school shooting.
school shootings are not predictable, which result in that schools have added lockdown drills, bullet proof glass and metal detectors at the entrances. The students that attend on schools have been taught lockdown drills, to have the highest chances of surviving a school shooting.
Why is it happening?
Society plays a huge role in the development of a school shooter/school shooting. Often it starts when a person feels excluded from a community. Especially when the individual is being bullied.
That often causes them to express that anger in a way, such as a school shooting. A normal week in school is typically five days Monday-Friday, lasting between six and eight hours a day. Which is a whole lot of hours if you feel excluded or isolated from the society.
While bullying, the bully hopes to create a feeling of dominance, by doing so, he will emerge as powerful. Being the victim, you feel like you are worth absolutely nothing. Being a victim in a bully is sad. The victim in a bully will most likely feel anger and sadness, which may develop into deeper thoughts, like hatred and the need for revenge, which often is the reason why some individuals commit school shootings.
