Black boy is an autobiography of Richard Wrights. He explains everything he's been through in the painful life he had in Jim Crow South. 1912-1927. In each chapter, he thus explains his painful and confusing memories. In each chapter one gets to whiten how his perspective was and its thoughts a child had. Since he had written such a thing there are no questions from people and by the end of the story Richard has come of age. His voice has then been merged into one.

It tells the story of his childhood in the South and the lives of adults in Chicago. It tells of everything he has been through as a child, where he has been hungry, suffering, beatings and racism. He then tries his best to prevent racism from reaching the far north

Richard is an African American in Mississippi. The year was 1908. At that time it was a hard time for such a child as him. But it was not a welcoming time for him. The proverb in the story was not very good but you have to live with it, because it was in the old days

The book of remembrance begins from when he was only 4 years old by the name of Richard Wright. The book itself has an author who tells that he is a brother. The person does not have a name, but we are told that he is in Mississippi. The mother repeatedly asks boys to be quiet because their grandmother is dying. At some point in the story, Richard Wright gets so bored that he sets fire to a few straws. He then chooses to place the fire close to window curtains. He then thinks he did not know it would go up in flames. Richard's brother gets so scared and runs out of the house and hides.
