Karakteristik af Nicks far i 'Indian Camp'

Nicks father is a doctor. He brings his son, Nick, to a camp called “Indian Camp”. Nicks father helped a woman give birth. He helped the woman to give birth, while Nick watched. Nick´s father sewed the woman together with fishing wire.

Nick´s father tell Nick what he´s doing along the way. He tells babies to give birth head first. Nick learns a lot this day.

Nick father admits that he shouldn´t have brought Nick with him.

He also said “I´m really sorry I brought you, Nick”

Nick is very inquiring; He asks a lot of questions to his father, in the end. Nicks father answered briefly. I don´t think Nick´s father would cram any more thoughts into his head.

Their relationship is very special. Nick´s father may have been aware of what was going to happen. He wanted to teach Nick something about life and show one from the harsh side. He probably expected one to have gone a little less hard.

At first, Nick´s father seems to be very calm. He lies with an arm around Nick and seems affectionate. When Nick says he knows that the woman is going to have a baby, the father says, “You don´t know” “Listen to me. What she is going through is called being in labor. The baby wants to be born, and she wants it to be born. All her muscles are trying to get the baby born. That´s what happens when she screams”
