The families don’t want to have any contact with the teenagers that don’t come back and follow their religion, because they are disappointed, some of the Amish teenagers don’t understand why and how they had lived in such a boring village when they have the whole world to explore, they also change their mindset when they come back after a whole year enjoying the town and freedom. In the Amish religion, it all is about being with your family and being in a small community and they do not have any connection with the world around them.
