Back in July 1969 at Kennedy Space Center, my family and I witnessed one of the biggest events in American history. When Apollo 11 lifted off, flew into the outer space and continued to the moon, carrying the legendary astronaut Neil Armstrong.
Leading up to the event, The United States of America had an unofficial battle with Russia, about who would get to the moon first. Russia was the first ones to achieve sending a spaceship off, but it never landed on the moon, and they ended up sacrificing a dog to see if it would land on the moon but without success. If you ask me, it isn’t worth the life of a dog to land on the moon.
Back to the event.
The atmosphere during the event was fantastic. Everyone was so excited about what was about to happen. And most of the participants of the event was carrying the American flag. And when Apollo 11 finally lifted off, they raised their flags. Everybody started cheering, clapping and generally just celebrated the historic day that it was. Personally, I felt really amazed by the fact that another human being, was about to land on the Moon.
After the event, a video of Neil Armstrong, placing the American flag on the moon, went viral all over the world. A lot of people were very sceptical, and wouldn’t believe that he actually was on the moon. There are a lot of theories about what happened. Some claimed that the video was filmed in a desert. There are even some conspiracies that the Moon doesn’t exist! That it’s a hologram pointing to the sky, the government of USA turns on at night.
