The movie starts with a UFO full of aliens hovering over Johannesburg, South Africa.
The aliens get the nickname prawns and a camp where they can live. 20 years have
passed and the camp has slowly turned into a slump. Meanwhile, the humans have
kinda learned to share their place with the prawns. The citizens of Johannesburg
started to riot to segregate the prawns and move them to another district called
‘District 10’ which is a concentration camp. It was the MNU's mission to successfully
transfer them there and Wikus Van Der Merwe was in charge of that. Wikus
accidentally gets sprayed with some UFO fuel liquid that makes him slowly turn into
a prawn and he now has to learn and accept that he is turning into what he has been
hating his whole life. Now the government is after him and they are spreading
propaganda in the news to ?nd him in the city. Wikus has no other choice than to go
to District 9. He then gets along with a prawn named Christopher Johnson and
together is planning to escape the district and get up to the mothership so
Christopher can heal Wikus. The plan fails and they both end up in danger. The movie
