In these modern times a growing problem has arrived, anxiety is a growing disorder among the younger population, and having this disorder can have a big impact on the young people’s life, making their life quality low. This raises the question about why this is happening, and what the cause of the problem is? In all fairness our society is pretty modern, so we should be able to deal with this problem, right? And the last question is how we can fix this growing issue? This essay will go into depth with the cause of the problem, and how the modern society influences this problem, and give strategies on how we can address this problem.

When it comes to why anxiety is a growing disorder among the youth in this modern society, it is almost no doubt that it is because our society has gone towards being a perfectionist society. Young people want to achieve the best results and have a crippling fear of failure, because they wonder if people of their age are going to judge them if they are not perfect. But this is not always the young people’s fault, because it can also be that their own parents are pushing them to be the best, by putting them under a huge amount of pressure telling them that they are the best and therefore giving their children an expectation, they are also teaching them to act like they are adults while they are still very young giving them no time to be irresponsible children. When listening to the older generations also known as millennials, they just think that the young people are being overly sensitive, for this reason they have come up with the term called the ‘snowflake generation’. However, in reality young people are as resilient as the millennials, but the young people are just much better at talking about their feelings than the older generation which puts more light on the subject.
