The short film New Boy is about a young African boy, called Joseph, with a haunting backstory starts school in Ireland and finds out quickly exactly what it means to be the new boy.
In his new class the boy behind him keep asking him about things, until finally Joseph snaps and pulls the boys finger and laid him down on the ground. When the teacher then comes and break them up, and the boy says ‘’you are dead’’ to Joseph. He keeps getting flashbacks from the time when he lived in Africa with his dad where his dad would teach the young boys.
In the break the boys from his class throws a water ballon at Joseph while he was having a flash back from when his dad was shot.
They were about to get in a fight when the teacher comes and stops them.
Class starts again and Joseph and the two boys are standing outside class, the teacher is speaking to the students when a girl come up and says she saw what happened, but the teacher says she has to go back to her seat, that’s when the girls calls the teacher a bitch, and the three boys laugh and become friends.
