Drinking a lot of alcohol in a short time, is something that is quite normal in Denmark. To me,
it seems like people drink more for the feeling it gives them than for the actual taste. It
happens at parties, in clubs and even during family traditions like Christmas and Easter.
There is a part of people who choose not to drink, maybe because they play sports, have strict
parents, or for religious reasons, which is my case.
The first time I experienced being around drunk people was when I was 15. I was at a birthday
party where there was some alcohol on the table. Some of my friends shared a bottle
together, and they asked me if I wanted to join, but I said no. At first, I felt a bit left out, but I
saw that I wasn’t the only one who didn’t drink, it made me a little bit comfortable. My friends
who did drink laughed a lot at first, which was fine with me, but then they started saying weird
things, and that’s when things got messy. I decided to call my mom, and told her to pick me
up, meanwhile some of the drunk ones got louder and started acting silly, it wasn’t really fun
