We have been working with topic Amish for a couple of weeks and it was interesting and learn full, We read some Amish stories and saw the movie The Witness.
What did I knew?First of all did I know that the Amish people did not use machines or electricity, I also knew a little bit about Rumspringa.
Facts: there are about 227,000 Amish people and they do not use machines, electricity or Automobiles. They have a simple lifestyle and they original come from Deutschland, they speak an old dialect of German, but it is called Pennsylvania Dutch and that’s a mistake made by the Americans or as the Amish would say the English, because Dutch is language they speak in Netherland and the Americans meant Deutsch. The Amish are friendly and help full people. They believe in the bible just in a other way.
The witness: Harrison Ford plays a police officer investigating a murder, with his sole witness being a young Amish boy (Haas) who claims that the murderer was a policeman. Ford now has to live the life as Amish person because he has to protect the child from corrupt Police. It end with that the bad cop gets catch not just by Ford but by the Village of Amish.
