Blood Diamond: plot summary

The film begins with civil war in Sierra Leone and Solomon Vandy is capture. Rebels (RUF), attacks the small Sierra Leone. Solomon is separated from his family. Solomon is forced to work in the diamond mines. Solomon’s son Dia is kidnapped of RUF.

While Solomon works in the diamond mine, he finds a big diamond. Before the government would attack, Solomon saves diamond, but a soldier looks at him and says that he will gives the diamond. But the government comes, and Solomon digs the diamond and is been caught. Solomon will be put in jail, where he meets a friend, witch name is Danny Archer. When Danny Archer comes out of prison he takes Solomon Vandy with him to help him finds his family, in Butte on diamond. Archer and Solomon find their way into a journalist, who is called Maddy to help Solomon and finds his family. Maddy, Archer and Solomon are attacked in the way of Congo, and they will be sent to a South African mercenary. While all this becomes Solomon’s son Dia brainwashed by the explosions, killings and drugs abuse. Archer and Solomon leaving the camp, and continue the trip to the mines. Maddy flies back to England, after a difficult trip to mine camp. Archer sends an air raid against RUF, Solomon discovers that his son is been there, but Archer refuses it. Solomon goes to the mines, and sees his son Dia, but Dia refuses his father, and shouts of him that he is a traitor. Solomon is being attacked by a man, but Solomon kills him with a shovel. The government attacks RUF in the mines. Archer and Solomon will be forced to dig up the diamond. Then Solomon digging up the diamond and has to give it, finds Archer colonel and the other two soldiers. Suddenly Dia takes up a gun and would kill Archer and Solomon. But Solomon talks to him and orders this.
