Thank you very much for your email. I am glad that you asked me. First of all I would start to say, that we are all different, and have different relationships to our parents. When our kids get older an older, their hormones change. And with that I mean, there are in the time of crisis. They maybe think that we are embarrassing, pathetic or just “stupid”. I am pretty sure that the most of the teenagers love there parents, but they still quarrelling a lot with them. But that is the most usual thing to do, if you ask me. To quarrelling. Or argue, like someone calls it. I think that the typical subjects are about parties, sex, alcohol and dating. Maybe not the sex part. That’s too awkward to talk about. What the teenagers don’t understand, is that the parents just are protecting their children. We can also quarrel over just a little thing. And then suddenly, the little thing became much bigger.
Someone like to do stuff with there parents, and others are embarrassed. Or maybe afraid of what there friends will think. I remember when I was young, I liked to do stuff with my family, but sometimes it filled too much. Teenagers also need to be with their friends. And to be social too. I still remember that I discussed a lot with my mother, about dating boys. She said that I was too young, and I protested. I couldn’t either be out too late, or drink alcohol. That was also a problem for me. Many of my friends were out late, and drank a lot. But today I respect and love my mother. And I knew that she just wanted the best for me, and was only protecting me.
