Street boy is about a black boy, in South Africa whom have lost he’s parents and now, he lives on the street with, a thief the he calls “father”. He is about ten years old, one of the few thing the he have is a Record, a record I a game that he love to play, but one day the father happens to break it, and the boy tries to find a new one. The boy are trying to steal, a new Record, but when he trying to steal it, he comes out with the wrong game, because he can’t read, and it took him so long, the he was beginning to think that the shops didn’t have the game. But at last he got the right record, and six months in reformatory, and when he got out his father was angry at the boy because he was trying to steal the Record instead of food. One day he went out to get the daily bread, and when he got back his father has sold the gramophone, and then he said to the boy that he that he was being spoiling, and the boy was very sad about what the father had said to him, he was so sad that he was living the tunnel. Soon after he had left the tunnel, he got a job in a circus, he washed the elephant feet, and sometimes he thought who feet that needed to be washing the most, his or the elephants’, but he wasn’t paid to washing his own feet so he didn’t do it. He was travelled to Cape Town with the circus, and that was the first time he saw the sea. When he was in Cape Town he was together with a group called the Jesters, and he was doing everything that they asked him to do, and in return they learned him a few songs on his guitar. He was so busy to help his new friends that the circus left without him. He has lived so long in Cape Town that he thought the there wasn’t any reformatory, but when he tried to steal, some money there arrested him, and he got two years in reformatory. In reformatory he learned to make fishing nets. He got out of the reformatory and he wanted to go home. He was told about the fish train, he has to hold on the ice-cold cage, but when he got to Johannesburg, two police man saw him. His fingers was frozen solid to the ice-cold cage, and the police man help him to get free, when he was free from the cage he has lost some fingernails. Then the police man asked him when he lived an then he said he lived on the street, then they took him with them and, he was not worry about what they would do with him, he was just happy to be home.
