Talent shows are some of the most popular TV shows in the whole world. Especially shows like X factor, American idol and America’s/Britain’s got talent. The talent show franchise has grown a lot the last ten years. I think the media and new technology, has a great part in amount of popularity. Media like Twitter and Facebook makes it possible to communicate with the participants, and Portable electronics like Smartphone’s and Tablets, make it easy to follow anything happening around the show. The shows have also attracted a lot more interest because of the growing freedom in the beginning stages of the shows. People with bad attitude get angry at the judges and make a big mess out of the situation, or people coming to the stage in front of an audience like X factor, and get nude. Their also contestants with no talent, that have been told their good at something. It’s almost embarrassing when a teenage girl thinks she can sing, but instead of doing so, she makes a fool out of herself. That is actually one of the most criticized aspects of talent shows. Many experts think, the contestants should go through a short, psychological test to see if they are mentally ready. Many people also blame the judges for being too harsh sometimes and especially one is criticized, Simon Cowell. He’s an English A&R executive, television producer, entrepreneur, and television personality. He is known in the United Kingdom and United States for his role as a talent judge on TV shows such as Pop Idol, The X Factor, Britain's Got Talent and American Idol. He is also the owner of the television production and music publishing house Syco.
