I chose to write about a movie called “IT”. The movie is based on the book “IT” by Stephen King, who’s also my favorite writer. I chose to write about this movie, because it is really underestimated, and has great characters. I think even though it’s a very long movie, it doesn’t get boring at any point, but the reason that it’s long, is in my opinion, because they use time to really make the ordinance acquaint oneself with the characters. And I think it’s too bad that just because the movie is from 1990 it’s sort of forgotten and replaced by new, but not better movies, and I think that it’s a shame that people don’t value older but good movies.
It’s a horror movie about 7 children, who grew up in the same little village near Maine, where evil strikes in character as a clown who rise from the sewer, and kills one of the children’s little brother Georgie, and only the children can see the clown who rise every 30 years. I would say that it’s a pretty psychological movie, because it’s about evil itself, but in different characters, as clown primary but also a spider, one of the children’s father, and a dead body. But maybe it’s just because I’m really afraid of clowns, so that’s sort of my soft spot you may say. Even though the evil character mostly appears as a clown, it’s always just referred to as “IT”.
