So here I am. Relaxing in the five star hotel where I live until my new house is being build. I guess it is fair to say that I was lucky back then. I mean, it is not like I am where I am today because of my skills with my hands or my ability to know when I should buy and sell stocks. No, where I am now is mainly down to luck. I still remember when my mother called me from Glasgow. I was walking down the streets of London, when I suddenly felt my phone vibrating. I did what I always did when my phone rang, I immediately said “Hey, its Mark, What is up?” but I did not even get to finish that sentence before she jumped right to it! Of course I could right away hear that she was rather excited, but at first I just thought it was because of the new magazine or some new sweaters she had just finished knitted or something like that. Occasionally she would get rather lonely up there in Glasgow with me as her closest family had moved to London, so I have got used to she calling me for something that were not that important really. However this here would turn out to be much more important that I could even imagine at that time. She started asking me all about the lottery that she and me sign up for every week. I send her some money, so she could buy us some coupons and then we would share the prize. We have won some smaller amounts of money here and there but nothing like this. I could not believe it. After a couple of minutes, I finally got her to relax a bit and then got her to tell me what actually happened. When she were done talking, it was me who did not know what to say or where to start. I simply could not believe it. We had actually won the big prize. An enormous fund of money. No one had won this pool for weeks and weeks. 74 million pounds to us. That is 37 million pounds to each of us. At first I thought she had to be joking or that she has gone mad. But when she started to explain it to me, I knew, that is was true. I remember I went right back to my apartment and immediately started packing my bags. I did not even have time to book a ticket on the plain, but to me, it did not even matter. I just had to get up there! Up to my mother and to the prize. We have won the jackpot.
