'Divergent': Plot summary, fraktioner og hovedperson

Divergent takes place in a future world at Los Angeles, California. We don't know what year but the world is split up in 5 factions Abnegation, Erudite, Dauntless, Amity, and Candor. The big problem in this society is that if you don't fit in one of the factions you are going to be killed. Our main character is named Beatris and she is borned as Abnegation in a Abnegation family. In this future society you have to chose between all the factions when you are 16 years old. There is a big problem, if you change faction you can never go back and you can’t talk to your friends or family again if they still belong to the faction you just converted from. Our main character Beatris decides to change because she thinks she will fit better in as Dauntless, but something goes wrong at the faction test. Beatris doesn't fit in the factions because she is Divergent. From now on she has to cheat the system, so she won't be caught by the government and end up being killed. In the beginning it’s really hard for her to live like a Dauntless because they needs a lot of physical. In the Dauntless faction they are ranking the new converters in a ranking system. The new converters needs to perform well in a lot of tests. In the beginning Beatris perform really bad and she wanna quit, but suddenly she starts to fight against the ranking system and gets a number one rank. In the meantime Beatris is fighting with the ranking system, Erudite wanna take over the government and kill all the divergents.
