There are many definitions of it and many different times one feels "adult " on.

In Denmark it is said that you enter " adulthood " as soon as you are confirmed or also as soon as you turn 18.In other countries, there are other traditions such as having to go hunting or out and see one's father's job etc. There are also various times you become mature and begin to think and act like an adult, girls / women become mature before men. Men will mature around the age of 40.

This story takes place in an Indian camp, the atmosphere in the text is a little sinister: the smelly room, darkness, fog out on the lake and own that is filled with dew . The main characters are Nick and his father, who is also his uncle George, the Indian man and his pregnant woman and a lot of other Indian people who are in the camp.

Nick:

He is a Young boy about 10-12 years old, the son of a doctor. He is a very calm and quiet person, not so afraid to experience something new (now when he is with his father at work). He goes with his father to an operation in which an Indian woman to give birth. He is not so afraid of being with it; he takes into account the woman who has a lot of pain. When they are on their way back home Nick a lot of questions about suicide and death due. What he just experienced, he ask his father " is hard to die " because he was unsure and afraid of death.
