A hero is someone who saves lives or risks their own life to saves, other people. A lot of Americans calls the firefighter at 9/11 heroes, and some people call Spiderman a hero. A hero can also be a fictive person. The person is not real, but the point is that he saves other people and risk his own life.
There is a debate going on about if heroes and idols are the same. The black community calls Nelson Mandela a hero, but he didn’t direct save a life. But he did stand up and fought for what he believed in and he changed the world completely. I think idols and heroes are the same, because Nelson may be a hero to me, but may be an idol to you. A lot of people may call Demi Lovato a hero, she suffered from bulimia a couple years back. Her fans that have bulimia say that she saved them and made them stronger with her music, I think that is amazing and we need to focus a lot on something like that more.
We do worship a lot the media heroes. As I have written it may be a hero to somebody, and just a person to you. I don’t think a reality star is a hero at all, but more a comedian if we have to call them something other than a reality star. When the reality program is on TV then people talk a lot about it, but when the program is over then people stop talking about it. When a sports game is on TV people will talk about, but when is over we just stop.
