A D-prisoner is treated worse than for an example an A-prisoner. They only got shorts, sandals, and a calico jacket. They gave him long trousers, but refused to wear them unless everyone got a pair- Three years later, everyone got some.
Present meals.
For breakfast, they got served maize porridge, for lunch maize powder and water and for dinner they got maize porridge and a carrot or beetroot. They got a little piece of meat every other day.
Present the rules about contact with the family.
Every six month they were allowed to receive and write one family letter of 500 words - but no politics. Three months in they were allowed to get a family visit. It was very strict and they both had a warder behind them, and thick glass between them. They were allowed to talk about family matters, but in English and only for half an hour. the visitor wouldn’t be allowed again for the following 2 years.
