Joel Davis was born in 1995 in Islington, London. He grew up in Islington with his empty-handed family. Most of his time was spent nursing his sick mother, because his dad was out trying to provide for his underprivileged family
Motivation
“So, Joel what motivated you to start this tutoring service with homework help?”. Joel replied saying: “I grew up in a poor family with a very sick mother that I had to support, so it was very difficult to keep a balance between school and family. I therefor struggled in school and I didn’t have the time or the money to study, I never got any help. That’s when I thought to myself that It would be a good idea to start my own tutoring service with homework help”
Tutoring service
Joel set up a helping program, where other underprivileged striving students can seek for homework help. Since the program was founded, more than 170 people have received help, and It has taught people that there is no shame in troubling in school. Several students have even met each other through the program, because there is no better feeling than finding others who understand you. The underprivileged students are now getting better grades. University student have volunteered as teachers. Many others have been inspired by Davis idea; perhaps they’ve discovered it on the website he created to spread the word.
