President Barack Obama held a speech the 16th of December 2012 about the tragic event at Newtown Highschool. Obama primarily talks about the victims of the shooting, both children and teachers, and their relatives in forms of family and friends, and how they are not alone with this subject. He also critiques the American government by questioning, if they are really trying to keep the children safe. He says that he will use all the power that the white house holds to prevent school shootings from happening again and helping those who suffered or lost some relatives. He ends the speech by blessing the victims.

Essay Barack Obama is very skilled at talking to an audience. He knows how to make his message personal, powerful and empathetic, and to show his own feelings and emotions of being a parent. He really uses all of those skills in this speech.
Obama talks about all the teachers that got shot in the tragedy, he says that they all acted heroically by giving up their lives to save the children. He addresses all the victims to show his condolences to their families, but also to say that they didn’t die in vain.
