I chose the topic of school shootings, because there was a big school shooting in Florida this year, and I think it’s a huge problem for school students today. I wanted to learn more about why school shootings happen, and what we can do to stop them.

There have been many school shootings in the USA. It has been a problem for many years, and it seems to be getting worse. Between January and February this year, there were 18 school shootings. 17 people were killed in the recent school shooting in Florida.
But we don’t know why there are so many school shootings in America. Some think it’s too easy to buy guns. Others think that mental health issues are a bigger problem than the gun laws. They say that the government needs to give more support to help people with mental health problems.
History.
The worst school shooting was at Virginia Tech University where 32 were killed. After every shooting, people say that something needs to change. But nothing changes, and school shootings happen again and again.
The ‘Second Amendment” in the American constitution gives people the right to have guns. People who like guns take it very seriously. They believe that they need guns to protect themselves.
