We walk home and none of us are saying anything, maybe because it was slightly awkward after what happened yesterday. But then Jamal suddenly stops and asks, "can I ask you something?".
My head starts getting dizzy, I'm scared of what Jamal wants to ask me, did he want to ask why I did it? Or was it when I did it?
I shrug it off. "Yea whats up?" I say unsure, not trying to look him directly in the eyes, his pretty dark brown eyes. " You know…" Jamal pauses and looks down, "I'm not angry at you or anything, i'm just a bit confused" Jamal says. I look him in the eyes, and we both make eye contact, I start to blush and make myself say "So that means?" and now I'm impatiently waiting for his response, "I like you… as my friend, and I have always liked being around you, but I don't know if I'm in love with you Joe. So why don't we figure it out together?" Jamal says.
My eyes start to water as he speaks, because his words give me hope that there is a small chance for us to be together. I know it will be hard for us to go from best friends to lovers/boyfriends, but together we will be able to overcome this. I look him into the eyes, and say "If you ?ant it in this way, then let's do it"
