Slumdog Millionaire: resume og filmanalyse

This story tells about the life of a slumdog. A life of tragedy, love and brotherhood.

Prologue: Ram is taken by the police because he has won a quiz show. He is taken to prison where he is tortured and interrogated. The man who owns the show does not have the money to give to Ram and therefore wants Ram to confess to having cheated on the show. A woman comes into his cell claiming that she is his lawyer. She takes him to her apartment where they watch a video of the show. Now Ram has to tell her how he knew the answers to all the questions – one by one.

The death of a hero: The question is – What was the name of the blockbusting film in which Amaraan Ali starred with Priya Kapoor for the very first time? His memories go back to when he was at the cinema with his best friend Salim. Salim was a very big fan of Amaraan Ali. There was a rumor about Amaraan saying that he was gay which made Salim very upset.

A brother’s promise: The question is – which is the smallest planet in our solar system? Ram and Salim are living together in a chawl. In the chawl next to them there is a family. One day the daughter in the family – Gudiya – brings home a cat which they call Pluto because it is the smallest in the family. The father is a tyrant and one day he rapes Gudiya. Ram has become friends with Gudiya and is very protective about her. Almost like an older brother. He pushes the father of a roof and runs away from the city, the chawl, Salim and Gudiya.
