The story is about a rich, mean and greedy man named Ebenezer Scrooge. Scrooge it’s a cold hearted, he refuses to help the poor people, even though he is rich. Even on Christmas Eve he wanted his clerk to come to work, because Scrooge doesn’t believe in Christmas. Scrooge's nephew came to visit his him and he invited him to his Christmas dinner, but Scrooge refused to come. Later came two men and ask Scrooge for some money to their charity. He didn’t give them anything.

Later that evening, when Scrooge returned to his dark and cold apartment, he received a scary visit from the ghost of his dead partner and only friend, Jacob Marley. Jacob’s ghost had a long chain around his body, it was made of money boxes, heavy keys and office-books. He had to wear these chains as punishment for his greed. Jacob warns Scrooge that the same thing would happen to him if he didn’t become a better person, he also tells him that he will be visited by three spirits.

The first spirit was the spirit of Christmas past. The spirit was a childlike figure with a glowing head. The spirit took Scrooge on a journey into the past Christmases when Scrooge was young. He saw his school days, and then he saw a woman who left him because he was only thinking about money all the time. Scrooge became deeply moved, and started crying and screaming “take me back”.
