A. Make an analysis and interpretation of the below poem, and explain how it relates to the main theme of Dead Poets Society.

I went into the woods because I wanted to live deliberately.

I wanted to live deep and suck all the marrow out of life…

To put to rout all that was not life;

And not when I came to die

Discover that I had not lived.

(Henry David Thoreau)

The poem is narrated by a first-person narrator, which is very obvious when we see the poet say "I went Into the woods ... and I wanted to live ..." .. it’s the poet himself who wrote the poem, since it seems very personal in the way he writes on and of course because he's using the keyword "I" which very clearly says that it is his own feeling / opinion he writes about, but he also tries to reach out to young people. He tries to tell they should live their lives, so they will not one day when they die, discover that they have not lived it, because then is it too late to change it. He says very descriptive; ” I wanted to live deep and suck all the marrow out of life…” which must mean he wants to live deeply, then do whatever he wants. The language is a little difficult to interpret, and you have to think about what is being written before it makes sense, and the poem is written in free verse and there is no rhyme. There is imagery of the poem, which of course is actually very normal in the poetry genre. of imagery is very clearly explained "I wanted to live deep and suck all the marrow out of life ..." This is imagery and the reader should therefore think a little more than the actual meaning and not take it as literally as it stands ...The mood of the poem, I would say is very serious and it really gets one to think about the meaning of the poem, and it is also intended that when people must take action for their lives when they have read the poem.The theme of the poem must say is very clear since it’s basically just the theme "living life" which is explicitly the whole poem through ....
