I have read the story ”Indian Camp”, which is written by Ernest Hemmingway. The story is about a young boy called Nick. There is also his father and his uncle George. They are out fishing. Nick’s father is a doctor and he takes Nick with him on the other side of the river to an Indian village, to see a woman, who needs help because she is pregnant. They row across the river in two rowboats. When they arrive to the other side of the river, they hear a loud screaming voice. They walk inside and see the pregnant woman lying in the lower bunk. She was the one screaming. In the upper bunk is her husband, who is smoking a pipe. Nick’s father is going to perform a caesarean operation on the woman. Nick’s father doesn’t have any anaesthetics to give the pregnant woman, so he get’s help from two Indians and Uncle George to hold the woman to the bunk, while the father operates. He uses a knife to cut the skin on the stomach. After the operation the father says to the woman that a nurse is coming the next day and everything is going to be all right. Then the father turns to the woman’s husband to check if he is all right. But he’s not, the husband had commit suicide and he had cut his own throat. In the end the
