The story is mainly about two men, called The Doctor (Nicks Father) and Nick. There is also The Indians, Uncle Georg and the very sick lady. Nick is an intern and his father is a doctor. His father wants to show Nick how tough it is, how it is to be a doctor. He will do that by going into the Indian camp with Nick, and show him how he should handle a very sick women, with a baby in outcome. Next step is to go the Indian Camp. When they came to the Camp there were Indians there greeted them, and followed them over to the sick lady and his husband. When they arrived they could hear the sick lady screaming even if you stood miles away, she had insanely hard labors. Nick soon lost his curiosity, when the baby started coming out. The father were exited to do this, he started up doing the main things for example washing his hands very carefully. The first thing Nick asked was, if his father didn’t have anything to make her stop screaming, but the father could not do anything because he had no anesthetics for her. When The Doctor started operating, three men were needed to hold the lady, Uncle Georg and the two Indians. She had a really hard time, during the process. When the baby came out after a long time of waiting, he put the baby into a basin of hot water, he had warmed up earlier. Next he picked up the baby and slapped it in the head, so it could it breath. The Father could easily feel on his son that he had a hard time, so he started joking about him. After that, the father started to make some stitches at the lady, with some tapered gun leaders. After the process the father was absolutely unstoppable, he was clearly very excited over the achievement he just had did. He said that if you can do an operation with a jackknife and tapered gun leaders, it was fine for him! The next second, he looked around he saw the father to the baby had killed himself, and had cut his throat from ear to ear. Then Nick became a bit afraid and started asking about men always dies when a mother has born. And do women die too?
