In 1985, two friends, Joe Simpson and Simon Yates set out to climb Suila Grande, an imposing snow covered peak that reaches nearly 21,000 feet in the Peruvian Andes. The duo, aspired to climb the west face of Suila Grande, something that had yet to be accomplished. As mountain climbers, and the fact that nobody had ever done this particular route before. They began to climb, moving fast with the risky Alpine. They didn’t have place to sleep. They made hollow in mountain and slept there. On the third day they reached the summit and because of the difficulties with the route they took to the top, they decided to take what they thought was a less challenging path down. In the start everything had gone very well, but there were very cold and unfortunately Joe felt and broke several bones in his right leg. It was unacceptable to leave him there, so her friend Simon decided to try and get him down from mountain. The plan was that they tying long rope together and then tying themselves to each other. By one misstep Simon lowers Joe drop. He tried to pull Simon over the edge as well. Then he cut the rope, because there was no other solution for the problem. Luckily he landed within a few feet of a much deeper crevice that would have killed him for sure.
