Pangma-La is the name of a Scottish girl, whose father is a famous mountaineer. He gave her the name because he wanted her to stand tall and proud just like the Shining Mountain.
Since she was a little girl her father had promised her that they should climb the Mountain together.
So when the day came Pangma-Las mother tried to talk her out of it, but she had promised herself never to disappoint her father again, and to live up to the name he gave her. To stand tall and be proud, just like the Mountain. When they landed with their white plane in a small village, people gave Pangma-La lots of different food, they were proud of her because she was named after their Mountain.
When they arrived to the last village, some Sherpa men offered to carry their loads. But Pangma-Las farther answered them, that they didn’t need porters. Then the men threatened him, that the goddess would send wind to tear them.
Pangma-La started to climb the Mountain happy and with no problems. After a while she got tired, and an old Sherpa woman appeared asking her if she should carry her loads, but after what Pangma-Las father had told the men’s in the city she just shocked her head and continued her climbing, because she had made the promise to herself that she wouldn’t disappoint her father. She made a promise to her father that she never would talk to the Sherpa woman again.
