“Flowers for Algernon” is a short story, which raises many questions in the reader’s
mind and at the same time, takes a long hard look at the great questions in life.
Destiny is one of them. Can we change our destiny, and how does it affect our lives?
The text also leads the reader’s attention to how our destiny controls us, but
sometimes we get the opportunity to take it in our own hands, yet we cannot be sure
that it makes life any sweeter. The novel is also circling around the way humans have
begun to play with life, and the natural things of life. It is raising the question; is it
really worth the risk? Another main theme is how the intellect sets limits to the
relationship towards our acquaintances, and for our way of living life. These are some

When Charlie was dumb, he was isolated. People did not think much of which effect
their teasing and, from time to time, bullying might have had on him. It was lucky for
Charlie that he did not understand that people were not laughing with him, but at
